clinic co-Founder, Coach Larry Zierlein
Larry Zierlein is a co-founder of the Lone Star Coaching Clinic, beginning in 1997. His coaching career spanned 47 seasons across most every level of football. His first eight seasons were spent as a graduate assistant coach at Fort Hays State and a high school coach in Texas at Abernathy and Lamar Consolidated followed by coaching stops at the University of Houston, Tulane University, LSU and the University of Cincinnati.
Exiting the college game, Coach Zierlein coached offensive line in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. The 2008 Steelers were Superbowl XLIII Champions.
The 2025 Lone Star Clinic will be the 29th year for high school coaches to gather and further develop their program through dynamic lectures focused on schematic design, technique, position fundamentals, program culture and continuing education within the coaching profession. The 38 hours of lectures plus unlimited Q&A sessions will inform and hopefully solve problems facing high school coaches in today’s game.
